GROVE FARM & HAWTHORN LODGE — The Local Area

Grove Farm and Hawthorn Lodge are situated 5 miles from the attractive Suffolk market town of Halesworth with its large Co-op supermarket and good selection of shops. Local attractions include the lovely seaside town of Southwold with its sand and pebble beach, famous pier with old-fashioned games and the colourful beach huts.

Walberswick is a ten minute drive from Grove Farm and 5 minute from Hawthorn Lodge, the beach is a short walk across rabbit mown grass and sand dunes. Have fun catching crabs on the bridge by the car park (a piece of string with a weight and a piece of bacon tied to it is all you need).
Dunwich is also close, with its pebble beach and the beach-side fish and chip shop is well worth a visit in the summer.  A short drive south, you’ll find Dunwich Heath and the stunning Minsmere RSPB bird reserve.
